Preview AW17: Heavy Duty Boots

Once they were  workers' boots, then they were linked to the punk generation. The brand that brought the Heavy Duty Boots on the catwalk has been Dr Martens and celebrities like Kate Moss or Sienna Miller  opening the way to many other brands for this kind of footwear. If before, this style of shoes was only seen at men's feet, now everyone is a fan. I live literally in this kind of footwear and I've got quite a few pairs. This coming season has seen many labels introducing the Heavy Duty Boots, I've picked some favourites.
*In Store* It is a must to start with the first brand that introduced the Boots to the mass. Dr Martens has got a long history behind this revolutionary shoe. Now there are seasonal collections and limited edition productions as well as collaborations with artists. This Daze Jadon boot is inspired by the 1990s and its psychedelic prints. Check online for your favourite style and visit a store to find a whole lifestyle.   www.drmartens.com
*Not Yet*  Same style different material for the boohoo.com version of the heavy duty boots. Velvet, crystal applications and a ribbon make these boots perfect for an evening out, a music gig or just hanging out with friends being comfortable and stylish. They are not yet available but check the website for their arrival.  www.boohoo.com
*In Store*  Two versions in two different colours for Dolcis. The Delilah boots are in burgundy or black with inner zip while the Joan style, has got fur trim detail and cleated sole. The Joan style is available in black and burgundy. Both styles are made of velvet upper. www.dolcis.co.uk
*Not Yet*  Another style for the humble heavy duty boots. This time by George at Asda that puts a flower application and crystals  to the upper. The black colour makes  for a pair of shoes that will be easy to match with any outfit. Check in store or online for its arrival.  www.direct.asda.com
*Not Yet*  The name of this boot is appropriate, it is called Dream and it is by Kurt Geiger. It was difficult for me to choose a pair of boots to feature in this post because this label has come up with few models of heavy duty boots. At the end I've settled for this. I love the Chanel like tweed and the net bow.  www.kurtgeiger.com
*In Store*  These beauties are by Laurence Dacade, a Parisian designer who makes gorgeous footwear, full of colours and quirky. Her take of the heavy duty boots is great. Available in two styles, they remind me of the punk rock era with the checked fabric and black leather. Find where her stockists are at www.laurence-dacade.com
*Not Yet* The boot at the front is another take of a heavy duty boot by Matalan. The buckles give a twist to the usually laced up shoes we are used to. Look for them online because I am sure that once available they will fly off the shelves. www.matalan.co.uk
*Not Yet*  We 've got here another version of this iconic boot. It is by Primark, with a central zip instead of shoe laces and pearls details where the holes should be. The upper is printed with a floral design and the sturdy sole will protect you from the rain. Check frequently because once in store I can spot a winner here. www.primark.com
*In Store* Smooth down these military boots by Replay with a soft skirt or a dress. Made in leather with patches and studs these lace up boots will take you through the winter keeping your feet dry and comfortable. Check online for a stockist, Replay is present all over Europe with few stores in UK. www.replayjeans.com
*In Store* Aren't they gorgeous ? These bejewelled Rise + Shine boots are by Russell & Bromley. The heavy duty boots have been tweaked with details like the crystals on the toe and the velvet ribbon instead of shoelaces. I've spent a long time admiring them when I've seen them at the press preview. They are made in Italy with calf leather and leather lining and man made sole. www.russellandbromley.co.uk
