World Burlesque Games 2012 with Secrets in Lace

Burlesque is influencing fashion very much. Its 30's and 40's vibe is bringing back hairdos, outfits, make up and lingerie. In the last six years London has been  the venue for the Burlesque World Festival, re branded recently London Burlesque Week created and organised by Chaz Royal, the King of Burlesque.

The 30th of March a fantastic show, The Teaser has been held at La Scala in King's Cross, giving the audience and the press an "appetiser" of what the audience is going to see from the 7th of May to the 13th of May during the World Burlesque Games 2012. The major venues in London including Madame Jojo's and Floridita will see the best acts in the Burlesque world performing and compete for the crown of Male, Female and Newbie from Britain and the World. On the 7th of May you will see Tabitha Taboo, who won last year 's Festival. Look how lovely she looks in this gorgeous corset and sexy outfit. Everything is pure 1940's/1950's style. The pinup every soldier had the picture in his locker.

The 11th of May the Italian Jolie Papillon will perform in the Newbie category with this 1920's flapper dress. With the help of two huge ostrich feather fan she danced during the Teaser Show ready to perform again at the Bush Hall.

The Teaser Show has been hosted by Duke de Milo, a brilliant performer who is going to be on stage on the 10th of May at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. In a elegant suit at the beginning of the evening, Duke changed his outfit, and after all the stars always have a change during an evening, greeted his audience with a very short golden evening gown and a garter holding a purple sock. The audience just loved him for his witty presentations and I'm sure what we've seen was just the tip of the iceberg. More and more to be seen on the 10th of May. With him a lovely assistant wearing a fantastic bodice by Secrets In Lace, the sponsor of the evening, specialised in vintage style lingerie and nylon stockings. Hopefully on the Press night I will have the occasion to take pictures from their last collection and posted here for my followers' delight.

And let's finish with the beautiful Eliza Delite, who looks like she is straight off from a 1940's calendar. Eliza will perform on the 12th of May during the British Female Crown night at the Bush Hall in Uxbridge. What I love about a Burlesque show is the fact that the crowd is great, an occasion to show off a vintage outfit, full on or just a pillar red lipstick and false eyelashes. Men are wearing suits or a preppy look that reminds me of a Hollywood's film with Rock Hudson and Doris Day. It will be a great night out.
