Danish Wakeel Draped Modern Kouroi
A London Fashion Week debut for Danish Wakeel who presented his first wearable collection during Menswear Day, the last day of this fashion kermesse. Organising his show at One Leicester together with London Model Academy, Danish Wakeel screened a short film " The Ivory Tower" and then after a burlesque interlude, the show started with a live band, " Bury the Ladybird" providing something new from the usual DJs at the deck.
Drapes are big in this collection with huge collars on jackets and luxurious fabrics reminding me of Renaissance style. Danish 's signature on his shows has seen himself on the catwalk opening and closing the runway modelling together with gorgeous models while the place was full to the brim with press, buyers and celebrity guests like Ian Carmichael, the Queen's hairdresser.
Just look at some of the pictures, the video of the evening and the shortfilm "The Ivory Tower". Danish Wakeel really worked hard to make all this happen and his persistence will take him far.
