Christmas Gift Guide: Fragrances

Fragrances are very popular gifts and if you know the receiver's taste it will be a success because it is nice to have something that we really like. I am very lucky because I can wear any fragrance without problems but for many people, a perfume might react differently on their skin. I have picked some beautiful fragrance, not all are mainstream but quite niche products that make the gift even more unique.
The 1707 fragrance by Fortnum & Mason has been created exclusively by Parfum Micallef and crafted in Grasse. The name comes from the date when the store has been established. Among the notes there are pink pepper, mandarin and red plums, as well as jasmine, violet and a touch of sandalwood. www.fortnumandmason.com
From Moschino we have these fun fragrance bottles that look like window cleaning products. Choose either the Gold, the Pink or the Blue Fresh Couture fragrance. The Gold has got floral and woody notes with jasmine, sandalwood, vanilla, the Pink has got floral and fruity notes with pomegranate, pink grapefruit and wild rose, while the Blue has got bergamot, mandarin and raspberry among its ingredients.  www.moschino.com/gb_en/
Royal Leather by Kilian is inspired by the uniforms of the British Guards and it can be found at the store in Burlington Arcade in Piccadilly. The bottle is refillable and it comes in this beautiful wooden box that can be used to store jewellery. The perfumer is Fabrice Pellegrin who used hawthorn  and black tea with leather tones. www.bykilian.co.uk

I love the packaging of the Jusbox Perfume with the vinyl record as a lid and available in 13 different fragrances. Jusbox can be found at Selfridges and it has collaborations with perfumers like Julien Rasquinet, Dominique Moellhausen, Dominique Ropion and Antoine Lie. All fragrances are inspired by the music world like a song, a singer or an atmosphere. www.jusboxperfumes.com
The Berdoues family has been creating fragrances since 1902 and now the fourth generation of the family has come up with the Grands Crus Collection putting together the rich heritage and the creativity to inspire a colourful collection. The packaging is very colourful  and the fragrances are citrus, or floral or spicy. www.berdoues.com
Rose Petal is among the favourite scents of Jo Malone so she created the fragrance of her new brand Jo Loves. The notes have Rose de Mai and Rose Absolute among its ingredients as well as Ambrette Seed. The bottle is white so the light won't pass through and you can keep it on top of your dresser instead of inside the box to preserve the fragrance. www.joloves.com
Edition by Timothy Han fragrances are inspired by literature and each small batch has got an edition  number and the box is shaped like a small paperback book where on the cover there is a limited edition numbered print. It is also possible to buy the book related to the fragrance. www.timothyhanedition.com
Thameen London has been inspired by London precious things like the Royal sapphires just to mention one thing, in fact the word Thameen means "precious" . The Patiala fragrance, takes its name from the mysterious Patiala necklace with citrusy notes like orange flower and citrus together with musk and amber among its ingredients. www.thameenfragrances.com
Own a ounce of luxury with the Bvlgari Omnia fragrances by Bulgari or Bvlgari as it is known today. The Roman jeweller with its beautiful store in the heart of Rome now is present all over the world and the Pink Omnia can be bought only at certain selected stores while the Crystalline is more available. The fresh scents of both fragrances will be great on anyone who likes floral perfumes. www.bulgari.com
I love vintage fragrances and Atkinsons is 200 years old this year so it has a huge archive of successful scents. The Joss Flower fragrance  has got a gorgeous bottle in gold and purple with woody and floral ingredients like nutmeg, amber, iris and it is inspired by the 1911 edition that bears the same name. Available only at the flagship stores in London and Dubai. The store in London is at the Burlington Arcade in Piccadilly. www.atkinsons1799.com
