Silje Vallevik Private View at The Arch Hotel

The Arch Hotel  at 50 Great Cumberland Place W1H 7FD is a sophisticated boutique hotel in the heart of Fitzrovia. It is the perfect place for an art exhibition because when paintings are hanged on the Library's walls they are given the visitors the idea of how these paintings could be look like in a  private house blending with the rest of the furniture. Silje Vallevik, Norwegian artist based in London, held her private view of her stunning paintings in this cosy and elegant room. www.thearchlondon.com
Silje is posing next to one of her favourite paintings " Blue". The colours are vibrant and as well as some abstract works, Silje displayed many paintings where the female form is  the focus of her creativity. This painting is beautiful, I could gladly wear it if a print of this pattern was available. It would make a great dress, similar to the one that Silje is wearing or a beautiful scarf. www.siljevallevik.com
This "Horizontal Turquoise" dresses perfectly this wall. The cold colours used for the woman's body match the warmer hues on the background. Showing a painting like this in a sterile gallery would not be as effective as it is displayed in here. Would be buyers can see how actually the painting would look like in their houses.
A great turn out of guests came  for the private view. In  here fashion designer Nico Didonna, www.nicodidonna.com  who is working for his new collection Autumn Winter 2013 during London Fashion Week, is with Danielle Nearey, who is wearing a Nico Didonna cocktail dress and who provided the drinks for the evening where the mixologist at The Arch Hotel prepared, under her instructions, delicious cocktails made using Ginger spirit Kamm & Sons and Sacred Spirits liqueurs. www.kammandsons.com www.sacredspiritscompany.com

"Purple Back" sits fantastically on the mantelpiece. It's perfect, isn't it? Despite being a modern painting, it blends with this classic fireplace.

Media and fashion guests were at The Arch Hotel to admire Silje Vallevik works. PR guru Liz Brewer, conceptual artist Pandemonia, a posse of stunning models from Storm agency, journalists and among them media and fashion consultant Stephen Mahoney, who is organising a huge fashion event during London Fashion Week and Debbie Korrie, make up artist to the star. www.debbiekorrie.com
