Come Together, the Red Ribbon after 30 years
This year marks the 30th anniversary of when the AIDS virus was discovered. To commemorate this, fashion designer and Chairman of amfAR, Kenneth Cole, has partnered with MTV International’s Staying Alive Foundation and amfAR on the reinterpretation of the iconic AIDS ribbon. The new ribbon has got a double loop meaning that the efforts of fighting this virus has doubled. This ribbon will be sold until the 31st of December in selected House of Fraser Stores with 100% of the profits being donated to AWEARNESS, the Kenneth Cole Foundation, in support of the MTV Staying Alive Foundation and amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. Celebrities joined this campaign entitled " Come Together", where in a video they describe how, where, and when they like to wear it. Big names included Sarah Jessica Parker, Estelle, Cindy Lauper among others. It is possible to buy the pin online as well, the price is £ 5.00.
