Carnaby Street Shopping Party
The weather has been perfect, no rain but not stifling hot, just perfect to browse the shops in Carnaby Street during the Shopping Party Event. All the shops had something going on inside, free makeovers, a glass of bubbly or a soft drink, live music, DJ sets and much more, for an event that has become a tradition for Carnaby Street and the Newburgh Quarter. Visitors came and with the 20% discount in shops and restaurants they enjoyed a late afternoon in a characteristic part of London where young fashion was born 50 years ago.
Cinnamon rolls and coffee at Cheap Monday's by Fika which means "snack" in Swedish, while browsing and listening to a DJ
Nail bar by WAH Nails at Diesel female. No need to say that the queue was long, so plenty of time to look at the rails and do a spot of shopping.
For the launch of the Illamasqua new make up range " Naked Stranger", cocktails for all the guest and makeovers. The models are "wearing" the new range of make up and body products, included gold leaves.
Goodie bags are ready to be given to shoppers in the street. Nail varnish by Nails Inc. tights by Pretty Polly, fake eye lashes by Lash Perfect Lash Bar, truffles by Hotel Chocolate, Grazia Magazine were just some of the items found in the limited edition canvas bag.
The bloggers event at the Carnaby Books Exchange with Senior Fashion News and Features Editor Katherine Ormerod of Grazia Magazine. After a glass of champagne Katherine answered questions from us bloggers ranging from her view on ethical fashion, vintage, cheap clothings and I've asked her what the MUST item should be in every woman wardrobe. Katherine replied that it depends on the style of the woman but a great leather jacket which can be matched with everything from jeans to an evening dress and a black blazer are probably two items that should be present because of their timeless style and different looks they can be worn. Guests were treated to a goodie bag.
