Mattijs AW 2012 2013 Starbust
Less than a month to London Fashion Week, ready to discover what will be new for the season Spring and Summer 2013. But it is now that we can find in shops and department stores what we've seen in February. Check the latest collection of Mattijs van Bergen who with his label Mattijs sent on the catwalk at the Freemasons' Hall hosted by the Vauxhall Fashion Scout.
Starbust is the name of this collection and the dresses have got an inspiration from "Star Wars" with the music and the styles reminding me of Princess Leia with that particular hairdo and gold and metallic accessorises inspired by the two robots in the film saga.
The palette is beautiful, starting with black and gold, going to a bright orange and finishing with green aqua, blue and teal.
The fabrics were of the highest quality, silks, chiffons, leather details, the silhouettes are very feminine and flattering.
The collection is fabulous and the pieces are wearable. Some of them are quite dramatic the so called killer pieces, the ones you get to remember after the show.
Mattijs van Bergen at the end of his show greets the guests who attended the catwalk in the magnificent marbled hall embellished with mosaics and symbols. A perfect frame for this collection.
