Graduate Fashion Week Gala
This is the end of the 21st edition of Graduate Fashion Week. Keep these names in mind because they are the winners of this year and they will be working and collaborating with companies in the fashion industry.
Outside the venue celebrities have been photographed by the paparazzi and I could take a picture of Matthew Williamson and Daphne Guinness, two of the judges who later in the evening awarded some of the students for the most prestigious gongs.
Sarah Murphy caught my attention at the Northumbria University space and apparently she caught the eyes of Lucy Siegle and Livia Firth as well who declared her the winner of the Ethical Award.
Xiaoping Huang is here with Daisy Lowe and Mary Katrantzou while receiving the Zandra Rhodes Knitwear Award. This graduate from Lancashire University won over a very though competition.
For the George: Childrenwear Award, Louise Redknapp and Fiona Lambert from George at Asda declared winner Harriet Simons from Colchester University. A very summery collection that deserve to be put into production.
The winner for the Womenswear Award has been given to Chloe Jones by Matthew Williamson. Her collection inspired by Gothic architecture and at the same time very ethereal using silk organza and jersey has won over everybody in the jury panel.
I don't know if happened before but Chloe Jones snapped up as well the George Gold Award worth £ 20,000.
Suzy Menkes, Daphne Guinness and Fiona Lambert awarded the young designer and I can see a star in the making. I'm quite curious to follow up her career's achievement, because Chloe Jones will go far and I would not be surprised to see one of her next collections on the catwalk at London Fashion Week.
