Festival Time

Festival season is upon us and you might have received a coveted ticket to some of the coolest music gatherings around or you are going to buy your next ticket soon. Some festivals now are held in cities like the Hyde Park one in July but most of them are required to camp in some field and hoping that it won't rain. But even the muddy weather is part of the festival experience. I have picked some nice  and practical items to prepare your outfit and your rucksack.
One of the most important things when at a festival is to layer garments. I love this knitted jumper with hoodie by Urban Outfitters. Here you can take some ideas for a perfect festival outfit. The great thing is that you can put the jumper in the washing machine once back at home. Also it makes you stand out from the crowd and this is important when trying not to loose sight of your friends. www.urbanoutfitters.com
A packet of wet wipes is an essential at a music festival. Apart from cleaning your face from make up,  wet wipes are great for cleaning your hands without using precious water. These wipes by Burt's Bees are infused with cucumber and sage extracts and they are formulated for normal to dry skin, but you can find the wipes for your type of skin when at the Burt's Bees counter. Just remember to dispose of the wipes in a thoughtful manner and put them in the bins provided at the event locations. www.burtsbees.co.uk
A pair of wellington boots is another of those primary items that you must take with you when attending a music festival. This gorgeous pair is the Nebula by Hunter Boots in Carousel Orange but available in blue as well. I love the iridescent finish and they are fully waterproof. Remember to wear them with thick socks to prevent rubbing on your skin.  www.hunterboots.com
It is important to be hydrated during a music festival but also you don't want to spend a small fortune, that can be spent in music merchandise, buying water bottles. Also it is not good for our planet. I am sure that you can find water fountains where you can refill this lovely Hen Party stainless steel bottle by Cath Kidston that keeps the drink cold for a long time. Also once at home, this bottle will be your loyal companion while in the city, at work during the summer. www.cathkidston.com
Even if most music festivals are held in the summer, there is still the chance of the odd shower but we know that we can't use umbrellas while watching an artist on stage (or at the Globe Theatre ). So this poncho by Canada Goose is perfect because once folded it stays inside its hood, it is waterproof, windproof and breathable and despite having three layers fabric, it is very light. www.canadagoose.com
A backpack is the essential item when attending a music festival. If you have a tent, you don't obviously leave your belongings in there and also you don't bring many things apart from a change of clothing, so everything can be stored in this gorgeous Limited Edition Andy Warhol Fragile rucksack by Eastpak. It has a padded back so it will be comfortable to carry during the day, it is made of polyester and it is big enough to be covered by your poncho in case of a rain shower. www.eastpak.com
A denim jacket is a must when attending a music festival, because  it is good for layering and also has got pockets where to store your phone and money. If it is hot you just knot the sleeves around your waist and you carry on. This lovely denim jacket with pompom details is by Kaleidoscope. www.kaleidoscope.co.uk
Now, sunglasses have to be taken with you because you don't want to squint your eyes in the sun. It is not good for your skin. I love these Immortal Faceless sunglasses with a motif on the side taken from a 3d resin print of a work of art by sculptor Chris Mitton. These sunglasses are inspired by the film Brotherhood and they are among the coolest eyewear ever. www.weareimmortal.com
Always wear a hat when in the sun just to avoid something nasty like a sunburn. Nothing is better and in theme that a baseball cap by Lucky Seven x Pink Floyd where iconic patches inspired by the group's tour have been stitched on the famous baseball caps by this British brand. www.luckysevencaps.com
Trainers are good with dresses, skirts and trousers. Don't be tempted to wear a pair of flip flop if you don't want to have your feet squashed in the crowd and risking to loose them during a mad dance. Wear instead a pair of trainers like this bright Pallaphoenix Cuff Retro by Palladium. Made in canvas with a rubber sole, they will be great to enjoy your music staying comfortable with style. www.palladiumboots.co.uk

Last but not least a sling, like this Kelley by Tumi from its Recycled Capsule range, will keep your most valuable possessions at hand, like a mobile, power banks and money. It is comfortable  and you can either wear it across your body or at your  waist like a bumbag. It is made from recycled bottles and recycled nylon. www.uk.tumi.com
