Quarantine: How not to get bored
The whole world is shutting down with people in quarantine
or self-isolation for 2 weeks in order to ward off the spreading of this Corona
Virus. Some lucky people can work from home and won’t get affected by this
inconvenience while others unfortunately are forced to be at home and I can
understand what would happen if staying for 14 solid days all together. We have
to find something to do, instead of binge watching all the 6 seasons of Sex and
the City or the whole saga of GoT and Star Wars. Trying to spend time doing
things that we wouldn’t normally do for lack of time. I have gathered few ideas
to make this locking period more bearable.
Wear your gym gear and check some You Tube tutorials to
start exercising from home. You might find an old DVD with yoga or aerobic
exercises and now it is the time to use it again. By wearing something like
this colourful combo by Bjorn Borg will put you in the mood for some moves, and
you will be active in a time where activity is neglected. www.bjornborg.com
You have finally the time to use one of those sheet masks
where you have to relax for at least 20 minutes. Generally who has 20 minutes
to spare in a busy day? Well now you have it and you can leave the house in two
weeks’ time with a fantastic complexion. The Korean Dewytree sheet masks are
available on Amazon and other online retailers. There are masks for any skin
need and they are great. Have a bit of long due pampering. www.amazon.co.uk
Apparently this virus can’t stand the heat so help your body
and drink plenty of hot drinks. These lovely mugs and teapot are from Next.
Have nice teas, hot chocolate, flavoured coffees, and enjoy a breakfast in bed
or a nice afternoon tea. Treat yourself to a relaxing moment in the morning on
the afternoon, a catch up on the phone with a friend or with your family. How
many times you can afford to have some moments in the morning while sipping a
nice hot drink and have a bowl of cereals?

Let’s start thinking about the fact that in few weeks’ time
we will need to remove our socks and tights and have our feet naked in front of
the world. Footner has got the right beauty tool for hard and dry skin and give
a nice smooth silky feeling to your feet. Footner is a pair of “exfoliating socks”
with a solution inside. You have to wear it for a 1 hour and after that just
wear your normal slippers. Between 3 and 5 days’ time the hard and dry skin of
your feet will start peeling off and it will last between 7 to 10 days, so now
it is the right time to use it because being inside for 14 days will give you enough
time to have your feet ready for when the weather will be warmer and you are
going to wear sandals. Then add a nice nail polish and you will feel great. www.myfootner.co.uk

Staying at home means that you can try your hands at cooking
something new. How many recipe books we have and maybe we’ve never done
anything because lack of time prevented us from attempt some of the recipes.
Now we have the time, you can do your shopping online for ingredients, start by
using some easy and delicious recipes like the one in “The Hungerpots” that you
can find at Oliver Bonas. No excuses anymore for eating healthy and do
something new. Once this quarantine period will end, you will be left with
something new and the confidence to tackle a cookbook. www.oliverbonas.com

I am sure that every one of you owns a eye shadows palette.
How many times you wished you had the skill to create some incredible make up
but never attempted because always in a hurry? Now go to You Tube and find some
tutorials on how master a smoky eye or some other special looks that you can
show off once this lock down period comes to an end. This lovely palette is by
George at Asda, so if you don’t have one already, add it on your next online
food shopping so you can start honing some new skills. www.groceries.asda.com
When I am at home I love to be in my pyjama because it is
comfortable, my movements are not constrained and when I am tired I am going to
bed or if I fall asleep on the sofa, never mind because I don’t have to get
changed. Also pyjamas not being used outdoor, are for sure the safest clothing
to wear because they haven’t been in the proximity of anyone with a possible symptom.
This Amber Animal Print pyjama is by Cyberjammies , it is made of cotton and
modal so all natural fibres and it takes on the leopard print trend, still
going strong this season. A mini me
version is available for those #Istayathome selfies together. www.cyberjammies.co.uk
If some of the ideas were fine for anyone including who
lives alone, for this new activity you have to be more than 1 in the household.
I am sure there is a Trivial Pursuit box somewhere in the house so why don’t
you try your cultural streak with the Shakespeare Edition? The box contains cards, dice and a spare
wedge wheel. With 600 questions dedicated to the Bard and his world it will be
fun for teenagers studying him at the moment but also for grown-ups to refresh
their memories on one of the pillars of the British creative minds. www.shop.shakespeare.org.uk
Do you want to try your cooking abilities with some Michelin
star recipes but you are not confident that you can find the right ingredients?
Fear no more with the Starred Dinners by Fratelli Desideri, available on
Amazon. Each set comprises a recipe from a Michelin Star Italian Chef, the
whole list of ingredients; the fresh ones are cryo-dried and all portioned so
no waste at all. You just put your mobile on top of the recipe and you will see
the video, and by following it you will have a great result. I have tried it
and I can assure you that the dish is exactly as it should be. Just look at the
video a couple of time to memorise the several steps and be ready to put on the
table a luxury meal, pretending to be out. I would suggest wearing something
smart to recreate the outing in one of a gourmet restaurant, and a bottle of
nice wine to pair with your meal. www.fratellidesideri.com
