Vogue Fashion Night Out in John Lewis
Yesterday shops in the West End but also in other trendy areas, celebrate a night of shopping and events for customers, Vogue Fashion Night Out. John Lewis was among the department stores that pulled all the stops to organize a great event involving the Fashion Accessorize department on the ground floor and the Fashion Department on the first floor. Discounts were available on the night, together with complimentary drinks, music played live on the shop floor and a catwalk.
The first floor was buzzing with people, curioous to attend a fashion show, which normally is only for press and buyers. I've enjoyed the show very much, on the runway the models were customers from the shop, choosen by the organizers, dressed, pampered and then sent on the catwalk. Because John Lewis is a shop for women of all sizes and ages and this show underlined this quality. The models, despite the fact that they've never modelled before were very at ease in strutting along the runway, wearing garments from the Fashion department. A round of applause greeted them when the show ended, a very professional performance I must say, celebrated with a glass of Pommery Champagne offered instore.
After the show on the ground floor actress/fashion designer Mischa Barton introduced her handbags collection posing with fans and customers and signing the catalogue of her bags, stylish without being excessively expensive.
