QVC Press Day

I've stepped in a beautiful penthouse off Oxford Street for the QVC Press Day organised by Mischief PR . It couldn't be done anywhere else because QVC sells a lifestyle, it is like a department store without going out, so what would it be the best way to show all the items on sale on this great website? To recreate the perfect flat where a QVC customer would live.
I fell in love with this Green with Envy red Sangallo lace raincoat. The belt is inside and only the ends are out ready to be knotted in a stylish way. From the same label there were some traditional style raincoats but in bright colours like red and purple and a couple of quilted jackets in neutral colours and one in bright pink.
The colour of this dress is great. Bright orange for Nina Leonard asymmetric dress and I like the brooch detail on one shoulder. It will be perfect for all those summer occasions like a wedding or an engagement party, or just an evening out. It is very easy to accessorise just visit to find the perfect bag and shoes.
This Lulu Guinness Annabelle bag is a beauty. With the signature lips as a clasp and the shoulder chain this bag has nailed the colours and the look of  the next Spring Summer trends.
This pair of Marta Jonsson suede shoe bootie is great. The nude colour is perfect for the milder weather and the splash of pink on the front gives a touch of colour. Perfect for the office and absolutely suitable for a night out after work.
This range of jewellery called Classic Rock has been designed by Lulu and the style is pure rock chick. Using modern metals, leather and crystals, the collection of rings, earrings, cuffs and necklaces are a mix of feminine look and tough rock and roll groupie.

At QVC you can find beauty products as well as fashion items. Among the high quality products in offer at spectacular prices I've picked this collection of Nails Inc called Light Brights, three pots of nail varnish in classic colours plus one sparkling. I could try and use it on top of one of the other colours, just like a sprinkle on a cupcake, as suggested.

Forward PR Press Day

I went to Forward PR Press Day and the lovely Courtney Blackman who founded this dynamic PR agency talked me through her list of clients which is impressive. For example they are going very busy because with Kate Nash third album launch at the beginning of 2013 I'm sure that they won't leave any stone unturned in order to organise interview requests and let the world know about the latest hit of this young singer and songwriter. To top it all, being one of the leading Fashion PR agency London Fashion Week will keep them busy with their fashion designers clients like Corrie Nielsen.
This lovely number is from Corrie Nielsen Spring Summer 2013 collection called "Florilegium". The designer introduced her creations successfully at Somerset House during London Fashion Week. The dresses are small sculptures in pastel colours, the fabrics delicate like silk or the softest leather ever seen.

Euphorik is one of the latest brands to appear on the market being founded only at the beginning of 2012 by Alexander Leimbach and Roman Makuhha. Every piece is made in UK and the inspiration for this label comes from the urban scene in London mixing West End and East End styles for something new. This jacket is gorgeous because it can be smart or dressed down depending on the rest of the outfit and every single piece by Euphorik matches perfectly with each other. No more wardrobe crisis.

B Public Relations Press Day

Pampering, fantastic brands and cupcakes at the B Public Relations Press Day hosted at the glamorous Swarovski Lounge in Great Marlborough Street. I love this venue, it is perfect for displaying in a proper way clothing, accessorises and make up without compromising with walking space and a corner where sofas are provided for relax and a chat over a drink and something yummy. This is what happened during B Public Relations Press Day, everything looked and it was perfect from the reception, to being talked through the collections and a bit of a talk after that.  The brands on display were many and very interesting.

Penhaligon's is a favourite brand of mine, I love its shops, all with that distinctive old fashioned look and the products are absolutely among the best. I often pop in one of them and I can't leave its premises if I don't make a purchase, it is just compulsory for me. This Spring Summer the new fragrance from the English perfume house is called Peoneve, a bouquet of violet leaves, peony, Bulgarian rose, Hedione, Vetiver, Musk and Cashmere woods. In its simplicity the bottle is a small masterpiece, never changed in nearly 250 years of trading. Perfumer Olivier Cresp, who created this fragrance is a master in his art, having created among other famous perfumes, "Angel" by Thierry Mugler in 1992. Peoneve is going to be a must have.

Truffle Shuffle is a British online store for vintage style t-shirts. at you can find any t-shirt with logos, old cartoon characters, rock bands, the list is endless. The trend of wearing retro t-shirts come from United States but  in UK there wasn't a company selling these garments, everything had to be imported or bought second hand. Pat and Claire Wood founded the company in 2004 and since then the catalogue has been massive. As well as t-shirts, sweat shirts and hoodies are available.
So You Shoes is an online shop where the next season look has been pinned and wedges, stilettos, ankle boots and more are available in several colours at a very accessible price. Let's say that the looks that you've seen on the catwalk can be found at  and with the price of a pair of designer shoes you can afford to buy one for each style and in several colours being ahead of everyone else wearing the key look for Spring and Summer 2013.
Just Curvy is the website where curvaceous women can find lovely dresses, jeans, leggings, t-shirts and any other kind of garment up to size 26. It is frustrating when in a shop they stock only up to a certain size or for bigger sizes there is only one item. With all this won't happen anymore. The selection is great, the prices are very affordable and all the latest trends are on the catalogue. It really deserves a peek and I'm sure that when finishing to browse it you won't leave empty handed.

Ciate' is a nail varnish brand always coming up with something new with its products. From February exclusively at Selfridges the new collection of glittering nail varnish will be available. Look for the Fairytale Collection with its new 5 shades. The great thing about these products is that they are free from Dibutyl Phthalate, Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor. Your nails will thank you as well as being sparkling and groomed for longer. Priced at only £ 9.00 for each pot it is a treat that won't let you feel guilty.
Lingerie is having a great moment right now. Fiction with its latest steamy releases has increased a lot the purchase of nice lingerie and else. Topping up with the fact that recession makes people stay at home more rather than going out, investing in a lingerie set would be more fun as well as being of practical use. stocks nice underwear, some of them are a bit kinky but always very tasteful, in catalogue you can find some items like hot water bottle warmers, t-shirts, eye masks and more for a nice present. The prices are very affordable, with a great choice of models and colours.

Stefanel Spring Summer Collection

Stefanel is an Italian label that I know particularly well. I've been wearing its knits and clothing since when they started trading as retailers in the 1970s. Now a Stefanel Boutique opened at 94 Kings Road SW3 4TZ and I could not miss the Press Day for the launch of the new collection Spring Summer 2013.
This jumper is just the symbol of Stefanel for me. I think I've still got some knits at home, a sign of high quality and durability for this company that still has family members in the board room. The yarn of this jumper is sparkling but not in an exaggerate way, just a bit of light to catch the sun rays.

Jersey loose trousers and a knitted tank top that reminds me of Africa, jungle, a giraffe maybe? Stefanel tank tops are always soft to the touch and they last forever.
This lacy little number is available in purple as well. Fresh cotton for this dress versatile for any occasion, from day to night just changing accessories.
And talking about accessories, two lovely handbags are what we need and they match virtually any outfit of the new collection. I like the orange bag, bright and perfect for a night out.
This beautiful cardigan will be perfect for the chilly summer nights....and for the days as well if we are going to have another summer like the one we had few months ago. Stefanel is perfect for this climate because its knits can be worn always as well as in air conditioned offices.
Great monochrome knitted dress, perfect to hide our little sins with the black tactically placed at critical points like waist and tummy. I reckon it is going to be a best seller.

Dee Vesali PR Press Day

Luxury, luxury and again luxury, it 's the first thought that comes up on my mind when I viewed the Spring Summer Collection 2013 at Dee Vesali PR Press Day. A selection of high quality labels that are always photographed on the red carpets, worn by A listers all over the world.
Nina Naustdal is well known for her exquisitely crystal embroideries on her evening gowns and cocktail dresses. A list of celebrities have been wearing her creations at all the main events all around the globe and the assurance that each piece is a one off it is just one more reason to head to Nina's shop at 176 Walton Street SW3 2JL. Nina Naustdal hasn't got only occasion wear. A great selection of more wearable pieces, always very colourful is in store. The gorgeous pieces of jewellery designed by Nina Naustdal and crafted by skillful goldsmiths using the most amazing precious stones are also at the shop.
Louis Heal graduated from the London College of Fashion and despite his young age he is already a well known feature in the fashion industry. All his garments are amazing and many celebrities like Elle Macpherson or Jessie J just to name a couple have been seen wearing his creations. For the Spring Summer collection Louis has designed a very bold line using beetle shells in his embroideries. In this picture there is this white silk gown with a full cape. The gown has got the beetle shells embroidered at the bottom and the scorpion necklace gives this Ancient Egyptian look that will be seen on the red carpet.
Gianmarco Lorenzi shoes are in the closets of the most famous women of the world. Made with the best  leathers, a craftsmanship second to none, the use of natural gemstones, precious metals and attention to details, a Gianmarco Lorenzi shoe is recognisable even in the dark. For the new collection we've got an explosion of colours and sky high stiletto heels.
Finest Seven is introducing its new collection in collaboration with Felder Felder who used this sunglasses for the latest catwalk during London Fashion Week for the Spring Summer Collection. Jesse Seven designed collection  for brands like Prada, Oliver Goldsmith and Cutler and Gross just to name a few and now with this brand he has incorporated all the most important elements for the perfect eyewear.
Joubi London has been founded by Joanna Bourne, a G.I.A. graduate. Her knowledge of gemstones is extensive and they are used in her pieces of jewellery in a most creative way. These cocktail rings are spectacular. Huge Turquoise or Sky Topaz or Opal and Quartz surrounded by tiny diamonds. These statement rings are a beauty.
Billionaire Couture is the brainchild of Flavio Briatore, whose philosophy is quality and luxury regarding tailoring. After very successful menswear collection, for this Spring Summer 2013 we can have a peek at the womenswear collection and these gorgeous shoes. As well as the male counterpart, craftsmanship is very important with each piece hand made and in a limited numbers.

Carnaby Street Shopping Party

The weather has been great, a mild evening has greeted the many people who came to Carnaby Street for  this twice a year event. The allure of live music and DJs sets in several shops, 20% discount on purchases and at many restaurants in the area, free make up sessions with top brands like MAC or Illamasqua and complimentary drinks offered through the evening  at the several shops involved in the event and in Kingly Court to the ticket holders by Bitter Sweet from the Dirty Martini family made the evening a success. Sometime the crowd in the streets was so thick, everyone laden with shopping bags that it was difficult to walk.
Fashtag is a new fashion channel on Youtube and during the event has launched its Studio in 8 Ganton Street W1F 7QP.   During the evening delicious cupcakes have been offered to the many guests attending the opening of the Fashtag Boutique Studio, as well as  a Nail Bar with   InspiratioNail and ColourRiotNails
Makeovers were offered by Illamasqua, photographers were ready to snap cool guest and interviews have been made  to influential Vloggers. I love the idea of a channel that it can be visited because it is located in a place that is known all over the world and where lots of trends started since the 1960s.
Editor at large from Grazia magazine Angela Buttolph gathered a strong crowd who listened to her talks on the current trends in the lovely space of the Book Exchange inside Kingly Court. During the talks, outfits from the shops in the Carnaby quarter have been showed to the public, picked personally by Angela, reflecting the latest looks seen on the catwalks. With an endorsement like this I'm sure those looks have been sold out.
Star DJ at Pretty Green, the flagship store founded by Liam Gallagher who designs the clothing collections inspired by a contemporary mod style. Andy Lewis, who plays the bass in Paul Weller live band entertained the customers with a spectacular set. While listening to the music we've browsed the collection sporting some gorgeous polo shirts made with the softest fabric and great cardigans perfect for a Christmas gift with style.
At Upper Playground,  in Broadwick Street, an art inspiring label working with artist, photographers and graphic designers, Alt model Ellis Cooper signed her calendar while sitting in an comfy armchair in the window. Upper Playground is famous for the collaboration with global artists and what is sold in the shop are all exclusive items as well as being made in a small limited numbers.
At the newly opened Dr Martens store the evening had in program a live set from the band Hares who are part of the Strummerville project set up by Joe Strummer , also customers could have had their new Dr Martens customised for free enjoying a 20% discount on top of that. The Photoboot at the first floor has been used to no end by the customers and everyone popping in the store.
Why I am taking a photograph of a man with moustache? Simple because this man is a skilled barber at the Movember pop up barber shop in Newburgh Street. By his own admission men with moustache are very sexy and handsome and I agree with that. The shop will be open until the end of November in order to help with the grooming of moustache all the Mo Bros who participate in the Movember Project to raise awareness and money for Men Health issues. The old fashioned barber shop is a great venue with old fashioned posters of men's grooming products by Gillette one of the sponsors. While I was there men received a classic shave with foaming cream soaps while downstairs music was played and drinks served. A photobooth with black and white photos was available.
Fourth and Main at 17 Newburgh Street W1F 7RZ   is a bespoke tailor but it is a lifestyle concept as well, interested in promoting art, music, acting and with a luxurious journal to prove it. For the Carnaby Shopping Party they had live performers outside the shop, in this picture you can see the singer Milly Blue, and an in house tailor taking measurements for bespoke suits or alterations. The quality of Fourth and Main garments are of the highest with most of the production made in store or at factories in Great Britain.

The shop Lambretta, inspired by the famous Italian scooter, opponent of the Vespa, had the band The Mannequins playing a long set outside the store. A nice crowd gathered to listen to their songs. The label has a collection of clothing in retro designs and a vintage Lambretta is on display in the middle of the store for all the nostalgic ones that owned this scooter.
The pop up shop The Rolling Stones in Carnaby Street is the ultimate stop where to buy limited edition clothing and prints of the famous rock band that this years celebrates the 50th anniversary. The collaboration with the Rolling Stones for the Christmas decorations in Carnaby Street. During the evening of the event, cool customers received a fantastic limited edition canvas bag with the famous Rolling Stones ' logo. The goodie bags worth £100 had a selection of items from fantastic make up, false eyelashes, gloves especially designed for touch screen gadgets, chocolate truffles and more. It started raining only when I've got home, Sister PR arranged a perfect evening, warm, dry and full of surprises and the shops involved have been great.

Dr Martens Store in Carnaby Street

I own a couple of pairs of Dr Martens boots and I live in them a great part of the year. So when I knew that a new flagship shop was going to be open in Carnaby Street I had to be there to witness the event of my favourite brand. Dr Martens are mainly still made in England and the models have been the same for 50 year while playing with creativity using colours, printed leather, collaborations with names like Liberty and venturing with a more feminine look only in the past few years.
At the opening of the Dr Martens store at 48 Carnaby Street I've walked between two floors of gorgeous shoes, from the classic boot with its shape unchanged since the 1960s to the new models with satin ribbons for a softer look, bright colours and customised ones. The Anthony Boot with its Stewart tartan dress has been the first thing seen entering the shop.

These bright 1461 models are fantastic. I love the patent effect on the leather and the choice of colours. With the British unpredictable weather the soles will protect our feet while being stylish. I've add the purple one to my long wish list. During the launch of the shop we've been listening to cool music spinned by DJ Jack Claver.
The Cassidy Boot has got the classic shape with high shine black print. As well as the classic colours black and cherry we have got a purple version. Dr Martens has got a strong link with the music scene and it started supporting " Strummerville" the Joe Strummer New Music Foundation
The Made In England (M.I.E.)3989  and the Percy Shoes are handcrafted at the original factory in Northamptonshire using cloth made by the Scottish manufacturer Lochcarron of Scotland. These models are made using the Gordon  Clan tartan dress. During the evening of the opening the band The Supernovas  played a set of their music in front of  the many guests from the fashion and press industry.
The same models in tartan have been made using Harris Tweed. I've taken many pictures and the choice has been very hard because I would have wanted to publish them all. So given that I could not put more than 60 pictures the best option is to go to the new shop at 48 Carnaby Street and see for yourself the great selection of models in offer as well as holdhalls, satchel bags and a line of clothing.

These Dr Martens Heels are very sexy, on the top shelf we've got the Nevena Shoes while the bottom shelf has on display the Ofira Shoes and the Raina Sandals. These and other very feminine models can be found at the shop for a rock chick look.
Beckett Boots and Percy Shoes in Harris Tweed  on display next to this beautiful satchel in Harris Tweed. On two floors the Dr Martens store in Carnaby Street can display its products in a fantastic way, with space for everyone to browse and sofas and stools perfect for trying on as many boots and shoes you like.
Dr Martens, a brand that always has had a connection with music, could not leave all its customers without a proper wellington boot in order to be comfortable and with feet protected during a Music Festival. Based on the original models and made with soft rubber in bright colours as well as the classic ones, the Shower and the Drench boots have laces so they won't slip away even during a mud fight.
The Dr Martens Union Jack Boots are a beauty. Tough and patriotic at the same time. Music bands of all genres from rock to punk, to metal to indie have been wearing Dr Martens forever, because they are durable, comfortable and they've never out of fashion.
Another explosion of colours with the 1460 Boots models  in patent leather. Honestly I would have buy them all and just match the colours to any outfit I own. Luckily a Dr Martens boots can be worn with jeans for a casual look or glam it up with a skirt or even a floaty dress like model Agyness Deyn who created a line of clothing for the brand and she has always been seen wearing boots with almost any look.
I could not resist and I've used the Photobooth at the Dr Martens store in Carnaby Street. There is a competition where uploading a picture while wearing a pair of Dr Martens can give you the option to win a pair of shoes at " Share Your Style". Check on the website for more information

On The Lam PR Press Day

Breakfast at Shoreditch House for the Press Day organised by Jenny Lam of On The Lam PR. The cool showroom set up  at this trendy spot displayed beautifully the incredible garments of Jenny's clients. I'm always attracted to colours and this time I've picked those two designers for the amazing palette they 've used for their collections. Let's talk about Carlotta Actis Barone and Soojin Lee.
This gorgeous silk evening dress with an embroidery of feathers in grading colours is by Carlotta Actis Barone. The apricot version is the one photographed but it is available in black and purple as well. This is going to be a red carpet dress if I ever seen one and the fact that my favourite colours have been used for Carlotta Spring Summer collection made me spent a long time perusing at every single garment on display. This dress is called " Day Queen", inspired by the "Magic Flute" by Mozart.
Another pretty number for another red carpet outing. The Papagena dress in silk with with feathers is available in orange, green and black as well. The referral to the opera is very strong with the use of feathers that enriched luxuriously these two outfits.
Papageno long dress available in silk or cotton lycra in two different versions of prints. As you can see the print s are an elaboration of feathers patterns. The same dress is available in a shorter length and this print is part of a line where shorts, t-shirts, leggings, catsuit and sleeveless tops can be mixed together or just as a part of an outfit. I would not know what to choose everything is so beautiful.

With the Night Queen dress we end the Carlotta Actis Barone mini show. The marble print cotton is encased in a boned structure and it looks like a cage with the contrasting colour strips. During the show at the Vauxhall Fashion Scout, the press has been full of praise for the Italian born designer.
Korean Soojin Lee has taken  inspiration for her collection from the Byzantine art. Think of mosaics, colours, big gems. This dress is white but with this insert that look like a stained glass window in some church. Blue, gold, orange are the colours chosen for this line of clothing, where the print is present in many variations.
This dress is fabulous. If you think it is in a picture just imagine how it can be in real life. It is an explosion of colours with "gems" sewn into it. The cut is very 1960s, the colours remind me of something a young Twiggy would have worn and the big gems sewn in a cross motif call the reference to the Byzantine art.
This skirt has the cross motif that  refers to the Byzantine theme of the collection. Bright colours for this premium line with pink, green orange, purple. It is a collection highly wearable, let's hope that Soojin Lee will be stocked in UK soon, we need colour for our gloomy summer.
