Helen Rochfort Handbags

Handbags are those kind of accessorises that never bore anyone. The more the better and we like to have a handbag for each occasion, matching every dress in our wardrobe and even matching the weather outside. So I believe that introducing Helen Rochfort Handbags will be a pleasure for me and a pleasure for you to discover.
Helen Rochfort designs handbags which are quite a small work of art. The Poppy and Alice bags named after her daughters are all individually hand drawn making them all a kind of one offs because no two bags are the same. As well as handbags Helen Rochfort designs beautiful scarves and Peter Pan collar necklaces.

The style is very vintage with frame handbags depicting scenes from fairy tales like Cinderella or Alice in Wonderland and delicious clutch bag in the same design.

The colours are bright and the shape is great because it gives space inside for mobile phones, purses and sunglasses.

For the 50th Anniversary of the doll Sindy, Helen Rochfort designed a whole collection of frame bags and clutches, they look like very pop art style with the images of the iconic doll on the front. Having a bag like this it means that instead of storing it in the wardrobe you can display it on a shelf like a piece of art.

This is a Bespoke Frame Handbag, a vintage bridal style bag where the initials of the bride are personalised on the front by Helen Rochfort using ribbon and diamantes. It is a perfect gift for the bridesmaids as well.

Underground Shoes Press Day

Underground creepers are fantastic footwear, comfortable, quirky and very rock and roll. Their collaborations with famed fashion designers have seen Underground shoes on the catwalks during several Fashion Weeks.
This is the classic creeper with the corrugated outer sole, leather or suede upper and available in quite several colours. The Underground tab on the side is just one of the several details that enriches this brand.

These three models have been customised with studs or crystals for a perfect rock chick style, if the size is small, the beauty of Underground is that they can be worn unisex, apart from some styles which are definitely feminine, the rest of the collections is very androgynous. I would wear all of these three and I'm sure that a man would do the same.

These are very colourful models, still they retain that cool edge reserved for tough cookie shoes. Something is sure, you own a pair of Underground shoes and you will leave in these nearly forever because they are so versatile. Great with jeans, with a mini skirt and thick tights, you will look like ready to go to a rock gig and more important, your feet won't suffer even if you are wearing them all day long.
These two sporty sneakers are great. It is the Para Vulc range in leather with external toe cap and studs. Now, you are lusting after these fantastic footwear, so I can tell you that on the 25th and the 26th of May from 10 to 8 and 10 to 6 at Elys Yard, The Old Truman Brewery Brick Lane E1 6QL a sample sale will take place with bargains starting at £ 30. So save these dates on your diary, a trip to Brick Lane is well worth it.

Jaeger Autumn Winter Collection 2013

I must admit that when I went to see the Jaeger Autumn Winter Collection I've filled up my wish list. All the clothing are highly wearable and perfect for day to evening. The quality of the fabrics used are fantastic and tailoring is perfect. Having a " Jaeger" in your wardrobe is an investment and with its versatility you've got value for money and sophistication all in one go.
From the Jaeger Collection this cross over front dress in a red colour is a piece that is going to be at its right place in the office or for an evening out and Christmas celebrations. Just add the right accessorises depending on the occasion and you are in a win win situation.
From the Jaeger Collection this British Tweed Asymmetric Jacket is paired up with roll neck jumper and a leather wrap skirt. Fine with either boots or court shoes. The monochrome palette will allow you to create contrast with accessorises like a bag or scarf.
From the Jaeger London collection, this Tinsel Tweed Ponte Dress is my favourite. I love the Prince of Wales pattern and the fact that it can be worn with thick tights or leggings depending on the look you want to achieve. I am sure that when this dress has been created, the designer thought of Twiggy.

A selection of beautiful silk scarves to complement an outift. I find beautiful the orange scarf with the woven basket print, but I have to be honest, the choice will be difficult because they are all very gorgeous and the colours are stunning.
Pony skin has seen in many collections and Jaeger is using this material for its Lawrence bags. Available in camel and pillar box red with  the chain shoulder strap, this is going to be the bag that it will come out with us in the evening. Spacious enough to hold everything we need for a night out and small enough to match a smart outfit.
The perfect companion for our next Christmas parties. Black and encrusted with crystals in order to catch the lights from candles or disco clubs. The light chain can be store inside for a clutch effect or when dancing worn on your shoulder.

11.11.11. 12.12.12 Photographic Exhibition

Those numbers looks mysterious, this is what triggered my curiosity during a sunny afternoon near St. Paul's Cathedral. Eugenio Fontanella is an Italian photographer whose project of exhibiting 13 months of photos of London places and people has started on the 20th of April with an open air exhibition outside the famous Wren's church.
When the Cathedral closed its doors, easels have been placed in chosen spots and black and white pictures, or sepia treated ones have been displayed. Some of them look like paintings and they all depict St. Paul's and the people who happened to be there looking for shelter under the portico and while resting with the back at its columns.
The interesting bit is that all the pictures have been put on the exact place where they have been taken. People just flocked to see this unusual exhibition, which is more a project than a one off show. Eugenio Fontanella has taken thousands of pictures around London and other pop up show will take place in the coming months.

Fontanella's fine art photography linked to a streetstyle look is very lively and I am looking forward to the next exhibition, because it is going to be in some well known space where the pictures displayed will show us details that we never notice because always in a hurry.

I had to share this with you, what do you think of this exhibition? As the author says: Watch this space. Share the journey. Check out his website at

Nina Naustdal Gold Autumn Winter Collection

Fashion designer Nina Naustdal is well known for her one off dresses worn by celebrities. Her Swarowski encrusted haute couture creations are seen on all the red carpets that count. For the season Autumn Winter 2013/2014, Nina Naustdal for the first time created a pret a porter collection full of colours and with bold prints. The show, held at Baku London in Sloane Street during London Fashion Week has been a success.
The tones of the palette sees burnt oranges, emerald greens, gold, royal blues and black. The inspiration for the prints range from raw diamonds spectre of colours to exotic animal prints in an explosion of colours,  in order to counteract the dark sky and grey weather during those seasons.
This blouse captures the colours of diamonds when seen under the microscope. Fabrics used for the production of this collection include  silks, chiffon, velvet and leather details. This outfit is great for the party season with black trousers and high heels black shoes.

This gorgeous dress has got animal prints as well as prints that remind me of precious Persian rugs. The colour is vibrant  and the top is the perfect background to the skirt and for a statement necklace.
It looks like this dress has been taken from a Hermes vintage scarf. The colours are jewel like and I love the shape with the nipped waist. Audrey Hepburn would have queued for this dress.

This print is one of my favourite, it embraces the colours I love most. This jacket has got a zip and leather details at the side. Teamed up with this beautiful pair of trousers in a soft fabric it is the perfect outfit to wear for a lunch or for an evening engagement.

At the end of the show Nina Naustdal is greeting her guests together with the beautiful models groomed by L'Oreal Professionel and make up artist Debbie Korrie.

Oliver Sweeney Autumn Winter Collection

This time we think about menswear with the latest Oliver Sweeney collection of luxury footwear. The shoes are of a very high quality, most of them made in Italy with the best leathers available. An Oliver Sweeney pair of shoes will last forever, it is one of the investment pieces that should be in any man's wardrobe. The models are classic but some of them include a creative twist in order to be different.
This model is called Tunstall and pairs Japanese denim Kurabo Selvedge with calf leather for this striking pair of shoes. The model is available in tan and black with the denim insert. I am sure it will be a favourite of most men because it  is different from the usual man footwear still retaining a classic shape but giving an edge with the denim.

I love these trainers, the shape is that one of the classic plimsolls but they are made with recycled hosepipes. I'm very keen with  everything sustainable and ethical and these shoes are another example of what can be done with a bit of creativity and material that would be discarded.
This model is called Sissa, it is made in Italy and the craftsmanship behind these pair of shoes is huge. A great work has been done to give this polished and iridescent effect. The shoes are available in either burgundy/red effect or black/blue effect.
A selection of boots and brogues. On the far left the model Hasketon with the beautiful scotch grain leather in brown/tan colour. Next to it the Benhall model brogue boot in two version with scotch grain leather on the left hand side, then the beautiful Snape models with Goodyear welted sole the first one in scotch grain leather the second one in leather and suede.
One for the ladies with this lovely collection from the collaboration of Timur Kim, fashion designer who create a line of the Emilia brogue using his prints. The collection has been seen during his show at London Fashion Week. The colours available are black, blue and multicolour with lime green and pink nuances. The prints on the shoes match the prints of the clothing collection.

Karen K & Pritch London Fashion Show

Step by step I'm posting all the exciting fashion shows I've been during London Fashion Week. This one has been held at Baku London in Sloane Street and in a packed room Karen K shoes and leather jacket by Pritch London have been the stars of the evening.

Model and fashion designer Karen El-Khazen is wearing this fabulous coat by Pritch London called " Voltage" the train can be added for a more theatrical look if not kept at home  when out and about. The fantastic boots with attached garters are from the Karen K collection.

The leather and suede jacket worn by the model is called " Vivacity" the zips at the shoulder can detach the sleeves in order to have a waistcoat. Bag and shoes by Karen K with added fur cuffs on the shoes and the leather leggings are by "My Love My

This jacket is real rock chick with zips and pockets and a belt to complement the look. All these jackets are made of the softest leather I've touched in my life and they are all made in Italy. The huge holdall is by Karen K like the ankle boots.

The Shotgun jacket has got additional fringes so that it is possible to play with the look. The ankle boots by Karen K have got two fur cuffs each...the whip is not included.

Jezebel jacket is in leather and suede, beautiful in a grey colour, perfect for a Gothic look. Pritch London jackets and coats can be made in different colours. The soft leather handbag is by Karen K, as well as the shoes.  Both Karen K and Pritch London have got a bespoke service and Karen K has got a limited edition collection with just few pairs of shoes available for each model, all of them hand finished by the designer.

At the end of the show Karen El-Khazen and designer Ariana Pritch are greeting their guests. Ariana is wearing the Jezabel jacket in the black version.

Crime Thriller The Deliverance Of Evil

After shows and shows and press days and fashion events sometime we need a moment for ourselves and the best for me is relaxing with a book and a cup of tea, well with the season going towards spring maybe a Pimms and lemonade will do just as fine. I've been gripped to this thriller from italian writer Roberto Costantini who had the book translated and published in United Kingdom " The Deliverance Of Evil". I swear, it is a big book but you can't leave it until you don't reach the last page.
The book has been launched at the Italian Cultural Institute with Roberto Costantini answering questions made by journalist Barry Forshaw. The book is published by Quercus Books, the same publishing house where Stieg Larsson has been published, so they know a thing or two about quality thrillers.  The plot is set in Rome and the police inspector is depicted as a though, handsome and arrogant, well the bad guy quite a few women are attracted to.
Barry Forshaw  is with Roberto Costantini during the evening which has been very enjoyable. Lots of crime fiction's lovers questioned the writer and then they had the book signed.  I've loved it, and I can tell you, until the last page it is impossible to guess the murderer.

Patrick Li at Ones To Watch

For this season 2013/2014 Ones To Watch, that showcases the new designers with a catwalk during London Fashion Week has chosen among many hopefuls, fashion designer Patrick Li with a show at the Freemasons Hall organised by Fashion Scout.
Monochrome and sharp lines for this young Chinese designer based in London who has worked previously with Hussein Chalayan and Victor and Rolf.
I like the shirt, crisp white with a silver collar, just to give a twist to the whole outfit. Black trousers are always a staple in any wardrobe, so investing in this one will see you through quite a few season as well as having a piece by the next big thing in fashion.

Beautiful leather jacket that complements the shirt with geometrical cuts. All the fabrics used are high quality with the softest leather and luxurious silks.

This leather coat is gorgeous with a only button and a triangular neckline. This is perfect worn for a day at work and paired up with the right accessories is fabulous for a night out.

Patrick Li greets his guests at the end of the show.

Superdry Autumn Winter Collection

I loved Superdry collection for the Autumn/Winter 2013-2014 season. One thing is sure, I will be coming for some serious shopping when the new collection will hit the store. Womenswear collection is very feminine but the matching that it is possible to do with what will be in the shop will show a different woman, glam but tough.
These delicious cupcakes were just the beginning of the rest of this delectable collection.

This outfit is great. The shirt is soft with a luxury yarn and slouchy, the tweed skirt complements with the same hue the top and for a bit of a twist the cable snood with huge pon pons. Flat boots and thick tights will see you through the winter with no problems.

The glittery skirt has got a new look paired up with this causeway crew jumper. Result ? Warm and stylish. What else do we want to fight the cold snap that has been with us for so long? There are some fantastic leather jackets as well to complement this outfit.

This jacket is my favourite, I've been drawn to it straightaway. I love the single breasted cut, the purple lining and the pocket's details. It is a jacket perfect for the office or for an outing with friends. It depends on what to wear with it. A pencil skirt and heels or jeans and boots. or also  a mini skirt and thick tights. Superdry has got all the options in order to wear this jacket the whole season.
These four models are wearing  the Superdry Sebiro Collection designed by Superdry founder James Holder together with designer Timothy Everest. The four styles, Town Coat, Country Rebel, Rock Rebel and The Muse, will have a series of tailored jacket, coats and skirts perfect for every occasion from work to leisure time. Patterns and colours used are classical Herringbone, Fishbone, Dogtooth, Black and Navy.
